O presente artigo analisa como funcionam os processos de avaliação da crítica musical em função de um distanciamento estético-temporal, seus modos de construir ou reverberar valores de obras artísticas e/ou objetos culturais. Assim, nos debruçamos sobre críticas musicais do álbum Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, da banda The Beatles, produzidas em 1967 e 2017. O disco é considerado icônico tanto para a cultura pop quanto para o gênero rock, de modo que interpretamos as transformações nos valores culturais associados à (...) obra e demonstramos as marcas estéticas que emergem na relação com o álbum, originalmente lançado em 1967. The present article. entitled “Principles, values and attitudes in times of “liquid modernity”: Reflections on Franciscan pedagogy at Imaculada Conceição Franciscan School - Dourados - MS”, emerged from studies realized through Rede SCALIFRA -ZN, in the year of 2023, entitled “Itenerários Franciscanos” (Franciscan Itineraries)”, which dynamics was outlined by regional seminaries, involving eight elementary schools, belonged to the school network SCALIFRA -ZN. In this way, the reflection focus was the Franciscan Pedagogy, the teacher’s role and the teaching quality, on the (...) way to brighten and guarantee Franciscan principles, values and attitudes at the schools’ routine. This way, this article is based on the specific reflection made at Imaculada Conceição Franciscan School, starting from the “Franciscan Itinerary” in counterpoint to the idea of “Liquid Modernity” (Bauman, 2005), concept which deals with the diagnosis of contemporary, which is impacted by the liquidity of social relationships of the globalized and individualized world. _Aims:_ The aim of the present study was to examine how executive functions are assessed in children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy. _Method:_ A systematic literature review was conducted using four bibliographic databases (WebScience, Scopus, PubMed, and Psycinfo), and only studies that evaluated at least one executive function were selected. Both the research and reporting of results were based on Cochrane's recommendations and PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis) guidelines. _Results:_ The instrument most frequently used was the (...) D-KEFS. All studies point to the existence of impairments in the executive functions among children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy with an impact on several cognitive and life domains. _Interpretation:_ There is a need to further systematize the research protocols to study the executive functions and their assessment in the intervention context. Findings of this review presented a diversity of tests (e.g., D-KEFS) or tasks (e.g., The inhibitory ability task) used with children with Cerebral Palsy. However, no information was given about adaptations performed to the test/task to meet Cerebral Palsy's specificities. Future research could consider including this information, which is key both to researchers and practitioners. The results of this study have important implications and suggestions for future avenues and guidelines for research and practice. (shrink)

This paper presents a pilot study that explores instances of objectless awareness during sleep: conscious experiences had during sleep that prima facie lack an object of awareness. This state of objectless awareness during sleep has been widely described by Indian contemplative traditions and has been characterised as a state of consciousness-as-such; while in it, there is nothing to be aware of, one is _merely_ conscious (cf. Evans-Wentz, 1960 ; Fremantle, 2001 ; Ponlop, 2006 ). While this phenomenon has received different (...) names in the literature, such as ‘witnessing-sleep’ and ‘clear light sleep’ among others, the specific phenomenological profile of this state has not yet been rigorously studied. This paper aims at presenting a preliminary investigation of objectless consciousness during sleep using a novel tool in qualitative research that can guide future research. Five participants experiencing objectless consciousness during sleep were interviewed following the _Micro-phenomenological Interview_ technique (MPI; Petitmengin, 2005, 2006 ). All participants reported an experience they had during sleep in which there was no scenery and no dream. This period labelled as ‘No Scenery/Void’ was either preceded by the dissolution of a lucid dream or by other forms of conscious mentation. The analysis of the results advances four experiential dimensions during this state of void, namely (1) Perception of absence, (2) Self-perception, (3) Perception of emotions, and (4) Perception of awareness. While the results are primarily explorative, they refer to themes found in the literature to describe objectless sleep and point at potential avenues of research. The results from this study are taken as indications to guide future operationalisations of this phenomenon. (shrink)

The aim of this paper is to argue about the impossibility of constructing a complete formal theory or a complete Turing machines' algorithm that represent the human capacity of recognizing mathematical truths. More specifically, based on a direct argument from Gödel's First Incompleteness Theorem, we discuss the impossibility of constructing a complete formal theory or a complete Turing machines' algorithm to the human capacity of recognition of first-order arithmetical truths and so of mathematical truths in general.

The Polish economy has been transformed for more than three decades by diverse crises. The beginning of the changes was brought by the political transformation, which modified the model of the functioning of the State in almost all areas. To some extent, its continuation was the accession to the European Union, which opened not only markets for sales, labor, but also new sources of technological and scientific development. Economic development did not protect the economy from the negative effects of change, (...) which occurred in the form of rising public debt, unemployment rates and reduced spending on important public sectors. Sudden breakdowns, in turn, forced changes in social needs, as exemplified by the explosive demand for e-services during the covid-19 pandemic. The article analyzed selected indicators that allowed analysis of the degree of differentiation of socio-economic development in Poland against the background of crises. (shrink)

O debate sobre modernidade e racionalidade consiste num referencial que ocupa espaço no campo das ciências humanas e demais campos do saber. Este estudo pretende discutir essa relação aproximando-a do terreno da Educação Ambiental. Desse modo num primeiro momento o texto situa a modernidade e a racionalidade; num segundo, apresentar a contribuição de Habermas sobre a temática e finalmente busca fazer algumas aproximações com Enrique Leff a partir do conceito de racionalidade ambiental. Interessa-nos também nessa parte buscar compreender em que (...) medida a acepção de racionalidade ambiental pode contribuir em nossas práticas educativas no contexto da extensão universitária. An important center in which genetic research started and was carried out in Brazil during the 20thcentury was situated at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Linguistics of the University of São Paulo, led by André Dreyfus (1897–1952). Beginning in 1943, the Ukrainian geneticist Theodosius Dobzhansky (1900–1975) visited Dreyfus’s group four times. This paper evaluates the impact of Dobzhansky’s visits on the studies of genetics and evolution developed by the members of Dreyfus’s group during the 1940s and the 1950s. The (...) study leads to the conclusion that Dobzhansky’s visits had an impact, not only in quantitative terms (the number of individual and joint publications), but also in qualitative terms. However, we also detect a decrease in the number of individual and joint publications related to the subject of the project during certain periods. The adoption of new experimental organisms by some members of the group; the involvement with subjects not related to the initial project, such as botany; Dobzhansky’s and his wife’s health problems during the third visit; and scientific disagreements between Dobzhansky and Brazilian researchers may have contributed to the decrease in publications. Partiendo del presupuesto que el lenguaje humano es forma y/o lugar de acción e interacción con el mundo y los otros, entendemos los procesos de lectura,interpretación y escritura como acciones cognitivo-sociales formadoras del sujeto del conocimiento. De ese modo, nos gustaría reflejar sobre los modos de leer y los modos de escribir practicados y enseñados durante la vida académica. Basados en nuestra experiencia docente, en un corpus de pesquisa en marcha en la UESB-Jequié, y en los enfoques teóricos adoptadas (Ingedore (...) In this article, the author explores the mystery of the soul. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul”. The soul by common definition is the spiritual or immaterial part of a living being, regarded as immortal. To find a possible metaphysical link between religion and science, the author suggests that the soul is the immaterial aspect of electromagnetic energy that can transform but cannot be destroyed. According to this (...) suggestion, the soul attached to a living being fulfills the being’s desire through electromagnetic interactions, and, upon completion, the soul is released through ultra-weak electromagnetic radiations that coalesce with the universe. Translation of Diogenes Laërtius’ _Lives, _book 5, steps 36-57, dealing with the life of Theophrastus.

The Global Workspace Theory (GWT) proposed by Bernard Baars (1988) along with Daniel Dennett’s (1991) Multiple Drafts Model (MDM) of consciousness are renowned cognitive theories of consciousness bearing similarities and differences. Although Dennett displays sympathy for GWT, his own MDM does not seem to be fully compatible with it. This work discusses this compatibility, by asking if GWT suffers from Daniel Dennett’s criticism of what he calls a “Cartesian Theater”. We identified in Dennett 10 requirements for avoiding the Cartesian Theater. (...) We believe that some of these requirements are violated by GWT, but not all, hence there is partial incompatibility with MDM, and it is nonsense to answer if GWT is or is not a Cartesian Theater. However, by asking such question we conclude that the issues around this discussion involve fuzzy claims about degrees of consciousness and we show how the Neuro-Astroglial Interaction Model (NAIM) is fit for solving such conceptual issues. Este livro apresenta a antropofagia como uma noção teórico-experiencial, uma atitude do corpo que reabilita o sensível e desperta o mundo percebido. A argumentação ressalta a dimensão sensível do corpo e do conhecimento, considerando sua sensibilidade e motricidade, corpo que não se separa da natureza e da história, atuando no mundo como presença viva, originária, em movimento, supondo um sujeito que, ao mesmo tempo em que constrói seus próprios sentidos, é dependente da experiência do outro no mundo, criando e recriando (...) a cultura, ampliando o processo de conhecer, sentir, pensar, agir, ser, transformar-se. Essa atitude anuncia um conhecimento sensível e um corpo que é capaz de sensação, mas também de expressão, de comunicação, de criação, aspectos indispensáveis para se pensar a educação como um espaço sensível, de aprendizagem e ressignificação da cultura. The discovery of the oriental poetry, specially Japanese and Chinese, had a deep impact in the poetic writing and personal evolution of the mexican poet Octavio Paz. The initial approach to the taoist aesthetic and philosophical universe was made trough the synthetic, sensorial and deeply suggestive strength of oriental poetry, and Paz found immediately an essential resemblance between the universe just discovered and the prehispanic cosmovision. As a result of that experience, in 1955 he published “Piedras sueltas”, a brief poem (...) collection, in which he combines the evocative power of the poetic image typical of the japanese haiku with several indigenous topics. The influence and the attraction to Oriental thought, particularly Taoism, is also present in El arco y la lira(1956), book that represents the pinacle of Octavio Paz’s ultimate poetic thought. Este artigo propõe os sermões da Baixa Idade Média ocidental como parte da linguagem política das comunas italianas. Junto com os discursos de assembleia, os sermões compunham uma retórica de natureza religiosa com validade cívica apta para os governos citadinos e para o modo de vida urbano. Estuda-se a Summa de Arte Praedicatoria, de Alain de Lille, os Li livres dou Trésor, de BrunettoLatini, os sermões de Giordano de Pisa e a Crônica de Rolandino de Pádua para mostrar como, de (...) um ponto de vista político e cívico, os sermões eram peças importantes do ordenamento social e da resolução de conflitos. Carnival was brought to the New World by Spanish and Portuguese colonizers, and it has been preserved there up to our day, although in the meantime it has almost disappeared from the countries where it originated. One asks oneself if Carnival has kept its original characteristics over the years, or if it instead has been transformed, and if so, how. The ethnological and cultural variety present in Latin America leads us to think that there must have been an evolution over (...) the years, and that Carnival should show some signs of acculturation. It is the examination of these two points that will be the subject of our study. (shrink)

No cartesianismo contemporâneo, devido à retomada da teoria da livre criação das verdades eternas, alguns intérpretes trazem ao debate internacional um interessante viés interpretativo do pensamento de Descartes. Segundo eles, ao apresentar a indiferença da vontade como atributo de Deus, Descartes instaura uma concepção totalmente perigosa, da qual derivam a incompatibilidade entre a indiferença divina e o sistema cartesiano, deflagrando, enfim, um irracionalismo radical.

Creer que la construcción de la existencia es poética y religiosa, de modo que la vida se realice plenamente. Creer que la manera portuguesa de pensar, más cerca de la concepción que del concepto, encuentra en el pensador del mundo que será una de sus expresiones más claras y profundas. La reflexión..

Dando continuidade à Pesquisa sobre a Sociologia no Ensino Médio no Rio Grande do Sul, examinou­se o processo de escolha do livro didático de sociologia nas escolas públicas de Porto Alegre, pois a disciplina só veio a ser contemplada pelo Ministério de Educação e Cultura ­ MEC, no Programa Nacional do Livro Didático – PNLD a partir de 2011. Essa escolha gerou uma interessante investigação do ponto de vista sociológico, pois possibilita pensar a vigilância epistemológica sobre nossos próprios pares, sociólogos/professores, (...) em sua prática de ensino. Como metodologia optou­se analisar documentos normativos do PNLD e realizar entrevistas com os atores envolvidos no processo: professores, coordenadores e supervisores pedagógicos. As escolas pesquisadas foram sorteadas aleatoriamente a fim de evitar­se uma escolha intencional. O sorteio se deu por macrozonas de modo a contemplar todos os bairros de Porto Alegre, abrangendo uma amostra de 30% do total de escolas de ensino médio existentes no município. Assim, não foi privilegiado nenhum bairro (centro ou periferia) garantindo­se um painel amplo e diverso sobre a situação pesquisada. Utilizou­se o método de triangulação: análise dos documentos normativos oficiais do MEC e das entrevistas com professores e orientadores pedagógicos. Ao interpretar as entrevistas e comparar os dados obtidos com as orientações do MEC, obteve­se um rico quadro da situação da escolha do livro didático de sociologia nas escolas de Porto Alegre.
